Future Trunks in dragon ball is one of the most iconic characters in the anime. Often times many would ask, how old is Future Trunks now in dragon ball?
So if you are a Trunks fan reading this post, I will explain the age of Future Trunks up to the latest Dragon Ball Season.
When we first met Future Trunks in the anime he was this mysterious boy who had the guts to face off against Frieza.
So little did we know, and so little did Frieza know that Future Trunks was a Super Saiyan and the son of Prince Vegeta.
When Frieza arrived on earth, waiting for Goku to return home, Frieza was instead encountered by Future Trunks.
Trunks immediately tell Frieza that only one out of the two of them will meet Goku. Frieza at the time underestimated Future Trunks so Future Trunks transformed into a Super Saiyan and defeated Frieza.
However, it wasn’t until Goku arrived that Future Trunks explains how he was born, the situation that is at hand, and the Androids.
Later on in the anime, we found out that this mysterious boy named Trunks was the Son of Vegeta and Bulma for the future.
Nonetheless, as dragon ball continued over the years, we never get to see how Future Trunks grew up as Gohan.
However, as I stated earlier above, what we really want to know is the age of Future Trunks when he first was introduced to us in the anime.
How Old is Future Trunks?
Future Trunks was born in the Dragon Ball age 766. At the end of Dragon Ball Super Season one, Future Trunks was 30 years old. Trunks when into the time chamber two times during the Cell Saga, which makes him physically 32 years old in his current timeline.
So you might be wondering how did I get this number? Well, if you give me a few minutes to explain you can see exactly how I get his age to be 32.
Future Trunks
One of the most loved and fan-favorite characters in Dragon ball is Future Trunks. He is a character that actually responsible for paving the whole Dragon Ball Z Android and Cell Saga arc into existence.
However, things were not so great in the future for the z fighters and for Future Trunks himself. Futures Trunks has been through many dreadful anger and sorrows throughout his life. He did not even have a childhood as most kids would.
Like most of us, Trunks did not have that many friends are family left in the future. He lost his father, and his best friend Gohan.
Trunks had to figure everything out and his own, while he tries to make things right by going back into the past. Luckily he did not lose every single thing, he had his mom Bulma who help create a time machine that could time travel.
However, putting all this aside, what we want the know is how old is Future Trunks. We will do this by utilizing the dragon ball age timeline by doing some simple maths.
When Was Future Tunks Bron?
Future Trunks was born in the dragon ball age 766, this was the same time Goku died and passed away due to the heart virus he had.
Everything since that moment in dragon ball, everything just seems to get from bad to worst. The following year, Android 17 and 18 appeared and killed every last one of the Z fighters with the expectation of Gohan.
Future Gohan and Future Trunks Age
Even though Trunks and Gohan at the time almost lost everything, and Gohan lost and harm, they both had a great bond taking care of each other.
During the next 13 years of dragon ball, Future Gohan decided the take Trunks under his care to teach him how to become a Super Saiyan. However, it was difficult for young Trunks to achieve.
But Trunks was able to transform into a Super Saiyan in the manga, however, not in the anime.
So in the dragon ball age 780, Future Trunks was now 14 years old. At this time if you do the math it was around the same time the tournament of power took place in the past.
Also, this is where Trunks and Gohan end up fighting Android 17 and 18, however, they were outmatched. The fight was so intense to the point where Gohan lost his harm in battle.
Android 17 and 18
So in dragon ball age 781, this got worst for Gohan and Trunks. This was where Gohan makes his last stand against Android 17 and 18 while they gang up on him from both sides and kill him.
Now, this is the part where Future Trunks turned into a Super Saiyan for the first time in the anime. Trunks channel all the pain and anger he felt when he saw Gohan on the ground lifeless and turn into a Super Saiyan.
This was somewhat reminiscing of when Goku first turned a Super Saiyan for the first time on Namek when Frieza killed Krillin.
So even after Trunks was able to successfully turn into a Super Saiyan, he was still not enough for Android 17 and 18.
Future Trunks had to train and hide for 3 years to put up some reasonable fight with the Androids and still he was no match even then.
Nonetheless, with this whole situation going on, Bulma and Trunks decided to Travel in time.
Trunks Time Travel
So in dragon ball age 784, Trunks was successfully able to time travel 20 years into the past, to try and prevent what happened in the future to happen again. At this point in time, Trunks is now 17 years old.
After Future Trunks’ arrival into the past, he kills Frieza warns everyone about Android 17 and 18, and gives Goku the medicine for his heart disease then returns to his timeline.
Now, in dragon ball age 785, Future Trunks decided to go back to the past to help out with the appearance of the Androids and Cell.
Soon after the battle between the Androids and Perfect Cell was over, Future Trunks when back to the timeline and destroys the Androids from the future.
Dragon Ball Timelines
Overall this is where this gets confusing. So as Trunks travel back and forth between the past and present timeline, he created multiple timelines in the process.
So in dragon ball age 788 when Future Trunks is 22 years old, he decided to go back in the past to tell everyone that he had destroyed the Androids something terrible happens.
Future Trunks was killed by first form Cell. So what happened is Cell takes the time machine and goes to the past. This was the same cell they fought in the past current anime.
However, the weird thing is Future Trunks was still alive in other timelines.
Woah!
Dragon Ball Z Majin Buu Arc
So overall we have to stick with the timeline that Future Trunks is still alive in. After a new year’s later Trunks find Deborah and Babidi and destroys both of them before Majin Buu could ever be revived.
Dragon Ball Super Zamasu Arc
So after the Buu saga ended, in dragon ball age 796 Zamasu and Goku Black appeared bringing back memories of hardships, pain, and havoc to his timeline once again.
However, with the help of his mother Bulma again, Future Trunks return 16 years into the past to dragon ball age 780.
At this point in time, Trunks told Goku, Vegeta, and everyone else about what happened in his future timeline. SO after everyone was aware of what is going down in the future timeline, they made multiple trips back a forth in the time machine.
This was the aid and defeat of the tyrants Goku Black and Zamasu. After Zeno Sama destroys the whole timeline, Trunks and Mai was the only ones left who survived from that timeline.
Trunks And Mai
After everything was destroyed by Future Omni King, Trunks and Mai decided to go back and live in the timeline they were meant to be. This was the last time we saw Future Trunks in the anime or the Manga.
So the last time we saw Future Trunks leaving and going back to his current timeline, he was 30 years old. However, it does not end there, you have got to remember that Trunks when into the time chamber in the Cell Saga.
Trunks spend a total of 48 hours which accumulates up to 2 years in the time chamber. So if you remember each time a person spent 1 day 24 hours in the time chamber that is equal to 1 year.
So and the end of Dragon Ball Super season 1 Future Trunks was 30 years old but physically 32 because of 2 days’ time spent in the time chamber.
