How much power does Madara’s Mangekyou Sharingan have?
In this post, we will explain Madara’s Mangekyo Sharingan ability and why it was indeed in his battle against Hashirama Senju.
Madara’s right eye can record a certain event memorizing his opponent’s movements and even their weapons and attacks. With his left eye, Madara’s Mangekyo can rewind time for a couple of seconds right before an attack.
Madara use many of his Sharingan abilities in his battle against Hashirama Senju right after he summoned Kurama. This same ability was also shown in the game Naruto Shippuden.

Madara’s Mangekyou Sharingan Ability
Limbo
The Limbo is an ability that is exclusive to Madara that allows him to create invisible clones of himself that can only be seen using Rinnegan or sensed using Sage Mode. These clones, however, can only be attacked using sage mode and Taijutsu. With both Rinnegan Madara can create 5 clones simultaneously.
Back in Naruto Shippuden, Madara was the only one that had been seen using the Limbo ability even though Nagato and Obito had possessed the same Reinnegan for quite some time.
It could be said that why neither Nagato nor Obito could have used the Limbo ability is that it was not only Rinnegan’s ability. However, just like Susanoo’s ability, both were unable to use Madara Mangekyo’s ability. Also, Madara’s Mangekyo only allows a single clone at best with a shorter duration. However, his Rinnegan abilities amplify that ability further.
Madara’s Mangekyo eyes awakened when he saw his brother Izuna get killed by Tobirama Senju in his back. The same Limbo ability allowed Madara to have sight and fight in every direction, this makes Madara’s back no longer vulnerable to attacks.
No one knows why Madara did not use this ability against Hashirama. Maybe he did use it because Limbo is invisible so even if he used Limbo against Hashirama nobody would know as Hashirama himself doesn’t possess the Rinnegan nor Mangekyo eyes.
This theory would also go with why no other ninja or Uchiha could match Madara except Hashirama back in the day because sage chakra allows him to sense the Limbo clones even though he can’t see them or it.
Enhancement Jutsu
Madara, Enhancement Jutsu without Hashirama cells was able to use Susanoo extensively well. He was fighting Hashirama for longer than 24 hours nonstop. However, maybe Madara’s Mangekyo enhance his chakra reserve to the point where he was able to go against someone with a huge reserve like Hashirama Senju.
He is also the only one that was able to use Perfect Susanoo during his glory days with only the Mangekyo Sharingan. Sasuke was unable to use perfect Susanoo until he attained the Rinne-Sharingan. Kakashi however, was given the Sage Of 6 Paths chakra by Obito when he was able to use perfect Susanoo.
Time Reverse
Madara’s Time Reverse ability is non-canon however, in Naruto Generation Games, when fighting Hashirama Senju. Madara was able to use his Mangekyo Sharingan eye to reverse time when Hashirama throws a huge shuriken at him.
This also explains why even though black Zetsu said that Madara used Izanagi to save himself when he got killed by Hashirama. Mandara did not lose any of his eyes, unlike Danzo, Obito, and Itachi. Furthermore, Madara somehow manages to unlock his Rinnegan with both eyes without any help.
However, if Madara Uchiha had the Time Reverse Technique in his Mangekyo, this could be explained after using Izanagi. Madara uses his Mangekyo technique on his already blind eye to reverse the cost of Izanagi to revival.
Tengai Shinsei
Madara’s Tengai Shinsei eye ability is a Jutsu that allows him to summon a large Meteor from the sky. These Meteors are so huge that it’s able to shape an entire landscape by themselves. Madara stated that he was able to use this Jutsu because he had an Edo-Tensei body, otherwise it would take him out. Nonetheless, this would explain why Madara did not use the Jutsu against Hashirama.
Izanagi
Madara’s Izanagi same as the time-reversal abilities is based on the fact that he does not lose any of his eyes when he uses Izanagi after losing the battle against Hashirama Senju. Maybe instead of using a traditional form of the Izanagi ability, Madara uses his special Mangekyo Izanagi ability. However, since the manga explicitly shows us Madara’s eye goes blind after using Izanagi I doubt this is the case, But we have to work it that.
