Naruto Characters Development.
If you enjoyed watching Naruto episodes over the years, we all can agree that there are a few Naruto characters development in the anime that has won our hearts back then.
However, we are going to look at a few of those Naruto characters development that most fans loved throughout the entire series.
So, without further ado, here are the top 19 best Naruto characters development in the anime thus far.
Itachi Uchiha
When it comes to Itachi Uchiha, most fans loved him because he was a badass character in Naruto. We learn that he Killed his entire clan for the sake of peace and let his little brother Sasuke hated him so that Sasuke could become stronger than himself.
For all we know, Itachi was a prodigy. Back then he could’ve easily become the Hokage if he wanted, however, he gave up his own career path in life for the sake of his beloved brother and his village.
Pain/Nagato Uzumaki
The character Pain has one of the best philosophies out of every villain in the Naruto series. Pain thought that the only way for peace to prevail in the world is if everyone feels the same pain he feels.
So when everyone feels the same pain they won’t want any more war. Pain was one the most powerful character back in Naruto because he singlehandedly destroyed the Konoha village which at that point in the story was the most overpowered thing fans had ever seen in the Naruto series.
Naruto Uzumaki
Naruto Uzumaki had the best character development thus far out of all other anime we have ever seen or read anywhere. huh!.
He is just like Son Goku who is a pure-hearted, lovable boy who grows into a man. Of course, he is going to be many fan first-choice pick. However, he did not have so much love and respect as a child growing up because he that the 9 tails fox inside him. Naruto had to work hard to get to the place he’s at now. He is literally a fan-favorite character in anime.
Hashirama Senju
Hashirama is a character that has the most Chakra in Naruto anime, he is a reasonable guy who is also very humble and funny.
Back in the day with his battle against his one-time friend Madara, Hashirama sacrificed his bond with Madara for the sake of peace and distributed the tailed beasts equally among the villages.
This was done so there could be a balance in power throughout the nation. On top of that, Hashirama single handle defeated Madara and the Kyuubi at once and he tamed the Kyuubi. Even though he believes are similar to Naruto he is like a better version of Naruto.
Madara Uchiha
When it comes to villainy in anime we saw how badass he was in the battle against the Shinobi Alliance. Only a few other characters could compete with Madara Uchiha.
His ideals challenged our own reasoning, so much so that fans faltered and questioned whether his actions truly were for the greater good.
When an anime character makes you question your reasoning, this only means that they have succeeded as a character. Madara’s character development position in this list is by no means a mistake.
Minato
Minato as wise know as the Yellow Flash or Namikaze was a genius and an excellent fighter during his era. He only lived a few years, however, the legacy he built still lives to this date in the anime.
Even before they debuting Minato, Minato was one of the most hyped-up characters ever in Naruto because of his speed. Including the idea that he was later discovered to be the father of Naruto Uzumaki. Minato’s achievements and sacrifices are enough to elevate him to an unforgettable character.
Jiraiya
Jiraiya is the mentor figure/father figure that was intruded into Naruto’s life when he was needed it the most. He took Naruto under his arms and tutored Naruto and raised him into the fine man he is today. However, only at least strength-wise.
There’s nothing to dislike about Jiraiya as a character in Naruto other than being pervy Sage. However, it’s quite surprising how Naruto grew to be so gentlemanly when he was in Jiraiya’s company for less than 3 years.
Gaara of the Desert
Gaara of the Desert was a Jinchuuriki like Naruto and killer bee. All Gaara wanted was to be loved however, nobody ever saw him as anything more than a monster. Similar to Naruto because he decided to become the monster everybody thought he was.
However, after a fight with his fellow Jinchuuriki Naruto Uzumaki, Gaara saw the error of his ways and decided to become best friends with Naruto and looking towards becoming the Kazekage.
Shikamaru
Growing up watching the Naruto series, Naruto was pretty much an outcast. Naruto had to resort to extreme pranks to get whatever little attention he could.
Shikamaru, back then as a character didn’t mind hanging out with Naruto even at the expense of being flagged as a weirdo by the villagers.
An action that gave him respect from the fans. Shikamaru was always a close friend to Naruto even now he is acting as his right-hand man in Baruto.
Sasuke Uchiha
In The Naruto anime series, Sasuke is a fan favorite for many persons. Sasuke is a walking tragedy up until now. Yet he’s nuanced, angsty, independent, intelligent and a jack of all trades.
He is truly the face of the ninja world and one at that most fans come to appreciate his character, in fact, everyone now respects him almost on the same level as Naruto.
His background is soaked in blood, it’s mysterious, cursed, and intensely pulls you in, without Sasuke in most series it would not be worth watching. Sasuke has an attractive mind that locks many mysteries, reflections, and silence. Thus far Sasuke character development in the anime is by far one of the best.
Mei Terumi
Mei Terumi is the 5th Mizukage of the village. She’s like many others are one of the most underrated characters in the entire series.
Mei Terumi also has a very sad back story in the anime. She endured and won this ceremony as a little girl, it was said that she completely reversed the Village’s reputation from the previous Mizukage’s reign.
Temari
Temari is so badass, and most fans love her. She has been serving as Gaara’s Kazekage her brother and advisor for many years and does so very well during the anime.
Temari was a strong Shinobi with her wind style to level a forest as a kid. She led the long-range division alongside Gaara and Ohnoki in the 4th great war.
Might Guy
Might Guy is truly the underdog of the Naruto storyline. Guy’s father was a loser and was always made fun of as a kid.
However, through hard work and determination, Guy became the greatest taijutsu expert fighter in the world. Even six paths Madara acknowledged him after he opened the 8 Gates and Itachi told Kisame not to underestimate him. He is what Rock Lee will become.
Kakashi Hatake
Kakashi as a character is smart, intelligent, good-looking, stays on the good side at all times, offers practical solutions, and fights almost every strong villain in Naruto thus far.
Kakashi as we know him is feared in every village. He too as a child had lost everything, however, still doesn’t harbor any hatred in his heart like naruto.
Kakuzu
Kakuzu was a skilled fighter that he was sent to assassinate Hashirama. Of course, he failed however, was then severely shunned, disliked, and punished by his village.
This type of treatment caused Kakuzu to have endless hatred for people in general, only caring about money. Overall, fans really enjoyed watching Kakuzu fight team 10 and Kakashi.
Obito Uchiha
Obito Uchiha’s character is a goldmine when it comes to issues and being very innocent in a world of monsters. This powerful shinobi Obito is the ultimate tragedy that became a monster in the naruto anime.

One one of my fan favorite tropes is to see Obito becoming Team 7‘s teacher. In another lifetime if he had taken Kakashi’s place and been amazing.
Obito also became an older cousin to Sasuke, challenging Naruto and surprisingly, helping Sakura to realize her potential and shifting her mindset. Obito in the series has done some horrible things and knows he can’t be forgiven. He did all of this because he was twisted with lies by Madara. However, once upon a time, he was a boy who wanted to be Hokage.
Neji Hyuuga
Neji Hyuuga’s character is often ignored or misunderstood, in many ways or in the series. Neji did not carry the Hyuuga storyline and allowed us a peek into the heavily controlled and falsely serene world of the Hyuuga’s people.
As a character, his nature seemed suppressed most of the time. Despite Neji being the head of the Lower Branch in his pears, he seemed very noble himself.
His anger issues in the series were understandable and assumptions towards life were quite fatalistic. however, who could blame him though?
In the 4th great war, Neji ended up dead in a hole, because of the Main branch member. That’s a tragedy in a series supposedly about change and making one’s own destiny despite the odds.
Anyhow, Neji still ended up following the footsteps of his father while taking the brunt of Hinata’s decision. He is A symbol of the Naruto-verses injustices and a stepping stone for the wishes of royalty and spoiled characters.
Sometimes Neji is villainized by the fandom over stuff he makes people uncomfortable about. However, Neji is an interesting character and someone we would’ve loved to see survive.
Hinata Hyuuga
Hinata Hyuuga was is born into a world of checks and balances and of false appearances, pressures, and pleasures. This girl is soft, quiet, and shy, however, unfortunately, the world doesn’t care and has never stopped for anyone else unsuited for their environment.

Hinata had to survive and reach beyond her weaknesses to be something greater than what it was. Her biggest strength is patience and time.
She allows things to happen at their own pace and she is perceptive enough to realize no one lives in a world of their desires and dreams.
Hinata’s femininity and peculiar outlook could’ve been a gift to her Hyuuga clan. If only she could find herself beyond romantic daydreams and not following in the shadows of others for validation in order to feel complete she could become much more.
