Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta: Why He Never Used It In Dragon Ball Super?

Spread the love

Vegeta fans have always wanted him to either surpass or at least be of equal power to Goku.

Specifically, they want Vegeta to unlock Super Saiyan or Vegeta Super Saiyan 3.

Anyways, many fans are under the belief that Vegeta was just never able to achieve that form.

But I’ve always had my own Theory with the release of Battle of Gods and Resurrection F.

There may be the new evidence to support it, so let’s talk about it. We do know for a fact, that Vegeta did not only know about Super Saiyan 3. But also witness Super Saiyan 3 for himself.

Super Saiyan 3 Transformation emits an incredible amount of power but also drained an incredible amount of power.

This means, it drains your life force, and thus Goku shortens his time on earth with that. Goku had to go back to the other world sooner than he thought he would later during the fight with Kid Buu.

Son Goku powered up to full power Super Saiyan 3 and then burnt out. However, Goku explains that his physical body had a lot of problems adjusting to the ki output required for Super Saiyan 3.

Vegeta has always been promoted as being a genius fighter, including by Beerus himself.

So, to me, it’s obvious that you picked up on that. However, still DBZ back in 1995 and even GT with no evidence at all, as to whether or not Vegeta ever unlock Super Saiyan 3.

Nor did we even learn exactly how that form is unlocked in the Battle of Gods. There’s a scene where Vegeta has a rage Boost after Beerus slaps Bulma. Probably, one of the more popular and famous scenes from the movie.

Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta Vs Super Saiyan 3 Goku

Vegeta was actually able to land a number of blows on Beerus that even in Super Saiyan 3 Goku couldn’t do earlier in the same movie.

So, a lot of fans have kind of seen this as somewhat of a plot hole.  However, it’s with good reason because Super Saiyan 3 has always been pulled over as being stronger than Super Saiyan 2 obviously.

But the way I took it is Vegeta’s full power Super Saiyan 2 with that rage boost was slightly for the moment during that rage boost.

I know a lot of you guys might not agree with me. But this is my fairy just from watching this movie over and over again.

That rage boost that Vegeta had actually put them past Goku and that’s what Master Roshi says.

“Vegeta has finally surpassed Goku”

I think for that moment when Vegeta had that rage boost. He did surpass Goku, but of course, he was unable to sustain it.

Also, I think that Goku is in between the four years between the Battle of Gods and the end of the Buu saga.

I think that Vegeta did train, but Goku, when he fought Beerus, wasn’t really serious. Son Goku wasn’t really angry enough when he fought Beerus. It was more like a sport vs Vegeta who is very pissed because Beerus slaps Bulma.

So, what I always understood is that I talked to a few people about this and they have kind of come to the conclusion. This conclusion is Vegeta Super Saiyan 2 power that he’s been working on and been training in.

Mastered that form for years even greater than teen Gohan or even greater than even Goku whereas. I think Goku has been powering up not only his base form but also his Super Saiyan 3 form.

Super Saiyan 3 Rage Boost

Vegeta’s rage boost is will put him over the edge. I also believe based on the comments that Beerus made at the end of the movie.

When he said both Goku and Vegeta could be trouble later on because of their incredible abilities.

Beerus said both Goku and Vegeta that tells me that even though these guys Goku and Vegeta have been training their asses off for the entire series.

They also have continuously unlocked new forms, and have continuously become more and more and more powerful.

There’s a good chance there’s evidence here that these guys still have not hit their full potential or are even close to it.

Well, I do believe that there is a possibility that in Dragon Ball Super, we’re going to see the explanation of where this came from.

Why Vegeta Never Use Super Saiyan 3?

The big question is why did Vegeta never use Super Saiyan 3? I don’t believe Vegeta actually never uses ssj3. We were never told exactly how Goku locked his all.

However, we know that he was dead when he did it and Vegeta was certainly alive in the four years in between the Battle of Gods and the end of the Buu saga.

My theory is that Vegeta was training his ass off during those for years. I think Vegeta did unlock Super Saiyan 3.

I believe that Vegeta did unlock the form but I think that once he unlocked it he realized what effect the from would have during the fight with Kid Buu.

Vegeta knew that the ssj3 form was imperfect, he knew it had a serious flaw and he knew that in real Combat you can’t just use up all your energy too soon.

I think that he knew that Super Saiyan 2 or maybe even Super Saiyan 1 is better during battles. So, of course, we’re going to get to Toriyama’s comments in a minute about that, but I believe that he knew the Super Saiyan 2 was probably the fit to combat.

Especially as the Fight Continues, the longer the fight goes, the better for Vegeta.

Is Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta Weaker Than Ssj3 Goku?

I do think that Vegeta SSJ 3 is weaker than Goku? I do think that Vegeta learned ssj3 or maybe he chose not to learn ssj3 at all.

However, I don’t think that Vegeta was weaker than Goku. Nonetheless, I don’t think that Vegeta didn’t unlock it because he never hit the level.

Because like I said, Beerus said great things about both of them and thus I believe that Vegeta either could do ssj3 or chose not to.

Maybe Vegeta didn’t even bother to train for that form because he knew of its flaws, that’s my theory.

Anyways, I want to know what you think in the comments section. Do you think I’m right on this one? Give it some thought, I know that we’re going to have some Goku Fanboys who might not agree with me.

Conclusion

Regardless, I do think just based on Beerus’ comment and the whole thing about Dragon Ball nation is that it’s more so about the character’s feet.

However, with Dragon Ball, the more so impressive you look is better. Vegeta was able to score some blows on Beerus even though he didn’t even come close to beating him.

That tells me that Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 2 plus the rage is stronger than Goku’s Super Saiyan 3. Again that’s my opinion.

Also what I said earlier about Toriyama is that. Toriyama did make the comment in an interview that Super Saiyan 2 and 3 are actually just mutated power-ups from Super Saiyan 1.

This to me is totally a retcon because the entire idea behind Super Saiyan 2 is that. It was the perfect form after the failed attempts from Vegeta and Trunks during the Cell Saga.

I do believe that Super Saiyan 2 was the perfect form, but now Toriyama is saying that Super Saiyan 2 and 3 aren’t even needed anymore.

After the Battle of Gods, Goku primarily kept training and powering up his Super Saiyan 1 form.

So that’s what Toriyama said somewhat contradicts the manga in a way. But I’ll accept it because it’s not a contradiction to the point where I’m actually offended by it.

Some of the other contradictions that have been made I’m okay with it personally.

I want to know your thoughts in the comments section. Also, one more thing do you want to see Vegeta unlock Super Saiyan 3 in Dragon Ball super? Let me know down below.
