Ever since Future Trunks showed us his new Super Saiyan Rage blue form. People have been asking if Future Trunks copied Broly’s form. Well, this might shock you because it’s actually the other way around.
So, according to Dragon Ball Super Episode 61 and onto episode 62, Future Trunks breaks his limits and Raged out at Goku Balck and Zamasu. Future Trunks unleashed an incredible amount of energy which lead him to burst out in a raging mood we have never seen before.
Well, that happened, and a lot of fans were saying this rage transformation out of Future Trunks is somewhat similar to Broly’s rage.
However, if you look it that way, you would believe it too because Trunks and Broly had huge muscles, electricity, and white pupil eyes.
So, the number one thing most fans were looking at was the fact that both Trunks and Broly had the withe pupil eyes. This was the classic Broly transformation that stood out the most about Broly in the movies back in the day.
The Difference Between Broy’s Rage and Trunks Rage
Broly’s rage in Dragon ball movies was actually inspired by Future Trunks. Back in Dragon Ball Z when Future Trunks was going up against Perfect Cell, Trunks tipped into his Rage form and powered up even more into what is called Ultra Super Saiyan.
However, the name Ultra Super Saiyan Rage out for Future Trunks was just a western name. The official name from the Japanese guidebooks was Super Saiyan Grage 3.
Future Trunks’ Super Saiyan Grade 3 Rage form, was at a level above Vegeta’s grade form and one level below Goku and Gohan’s full Power Super Saiyan otherwise known as Super Saiyan grade 4.
So, since Trunks was one step above Vegeta a one step below Goku, and Gohan full Power Super Saiyan. We could say that Future Trunks was at the level of grade Super Saiyan plus is Rage. The grade 3 and 2 Super Saiyan Forms was the most unstable unlike grade 1 and 4.
So, the only known fact about Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks was that he was bulky and slow. However, if you did not know, Takao Koyama someone who really worked close with Toriyama took the idea from Super Saiyan Grade 3 Trunks when he created Broly.
The Creation Of Broly Dragon Ball
The creation of Broly was inspired by Future Trunks’ rage back in dragon ball z and implement within the Broly movies.
Takao Koyama when the Trioyama for advice which we know of and Toriyama. Nevertheless, it was Takao Yama’s idea to borrow from Trunks’ rage power to give Broly huge muscles and no pupils.

Dragon Ball Characters Without Pupils
Characters with the lack of pupils in their eyes are not features exclusively of Trunks and Broly. We have seen characters like Vegeta on planet Namek maxed out and lose his pupils in dragon ball. However, in most anime when a character rages out and loses his/her pupils sometimes shows and represents a huge power boost.
Did Future trunks Copy Broly Transformation?
Did Future Trunks copy Broly’s rage form with a muscular body and pupilless eyes? The answer is no! Trunks did not copy Brol’s rage form and he’s definitely not related to Broly either. Super Saiyan rage with pupilless eyes is not exclusive to Trunks and Broly alone. Goku, Vegeta, and other characters have raged out in some parts of the anime.

Future Trunks was the first character to actually use that form back in Dragon Ball Z chapter manga 385. This manga chapter was released on August 4th, 1992. However, the first time we ever saw Broly’s rage in his movie was referred to as Dragon Ball Z DBZ8 Movie, Which was released on March 6th, 1993. This was way after Future Trunks had revealed his Super Saiyan Rage grade 3 form.
